I guess, one of the most complicated yet undecisive matters is, what's your next plan after school?
Well, being in the Education line has somewhat opened my mind about career pathway since one of my jobs is to give academic advice to my students.
So today, I'd like to share one of our OG programs which is Bachelor of English.
Bachelor of English (Hons) is a program that helps students to unveil the layers of linguistic functions of the English Language. The course includes literature, writing, and history as part of its approach to provide an in-depth understanding of the power and impact that a language has within various social and professional settings.
Duration?
3 years (9 semesters)
Majoring?
- Literature
- TESOL
One may ask:
"miss, will the program be tough?"
or,
"Bachelor English? hmm.. my Grammar is not that great. I may not survive in the program."
Well, fret not my child, for you are going to learn more than what English is. Yes, you're going to be studying linguistics, literature, and more books but at the same time, enjoy learning about culture, history, psychology, communication, a little bit of research work.
Oh not only that, the fun part is, about language and arts! Yes, you heard me.
One of my favorite courses to teach is Language and Theatre. Apart from learning about elements of theatre, You get to perform! Check out our cool productions from the past semesters.

Wait!
You want more? Catch us in our first ever Virtual Language and Theatre project Showcase held recently in July 2020. Yes, you 'heard' it right. V-I-R-T-U-A-L.
The idea came to us when everyone had to #stayhome #staysafe during this MCO period. Though we were disappointed that no audience could come to enjoy our show, we decided to bring the stage to the audience!
Overall, we had fun and thrilled that we got to experience such a unique way of presenting theater project.
Needless to say, I was so proud of my students who worked hard in organizing this project.
Okay!
So basically, that's all for today's entry. I'll continue sharing more about what we do in Bachelor of English in UNITAR in my next post.
Thanks for stopping by!
